We contracted with Trugreen eight months ago and they have been terrible. Since they have started our weeds have grown to the point where they have are a total embarrassment and have actually diminished the value of our property (See attached photo).

We have complained to Trugreen multiple times and they have ignored us completely. We are now at the point where we will need to sue them to to try to get the money back that we paid them in advance.

Don't make the mistake that we did. -- Do not pay them in advance ---Read their reviews carefully before you make a commitment to them

Product or Service Mentioned: Trugreen Customer Care.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

I liked: Aggressive salesman promised the world.

I didn't like: Non performance once we paid them.

I'm afraid you fell into one of the oldest traps there is.

"Aggressive salesman promised the world"

How did the actual contract you signed read ? Read first (absolutely), sign secondly (maybe).

Then you paid in advance ( fatal rule #2 : never pay in advance for services yet unfulfilled ).

They have likely performed everything the contract stipulates.

Come to house, spray lawn.

They've actually fertilized everything (including the weeds) at no extra charge. Not what you were expecting. And one of the many reasons we left our prim and proper suburban neighborhood for a large rural spread.

No more worrying about weeds, lawn services, nosy prying neighbors, etc. It's great. No poison on our grass to kill the grazing animals and birds. No chemicals to seep into our well and sicken us.

(or worse) Conclusion : You are nice, honest people who didn't get what they thought they paid for. Yet you have learned a valuable lesson and probably won't get burned by any more unscrupulous sales people now that you have suffered the first degree of education.
