Last summer I received a flyer for a discount to purchase a number of applications for my lawn. I decided to give it a try since my lawn looked like it needed some help.

Since I purchased a # of applications that were to be spread out over the season and since I purchased a little later in the season, they said one application would fall over into the following year, which seemed reasonable with me. The following year came around and not only was my grass the worst it had ever been...actually patches of dirt with no grass, they started my service up again and billing me w/o asking me!?! That one application I had coming from the season before was non-exsistent. I called them immediately and informed them that I had not renewed my service with them for this season and they said it automatically renews and that I had no left over applications!?!

I guess it's in very small print when you purchase any services from them they automatically renew w/o your consent. I told them I was not aware nor was I informed and they said it was not their responsibility to inform me since it's in print! LOL!!! WHAT A SCAM!

I thought this was a reputable CO! Joke's on me I guess. NEVER AGAIN! Canceled my service and find it funny that they don't bother informing you of important information while signing up but have enough time to constantly call you during the season to try to 'up sell' their services!

Shame on you Trugreen...too many competitors coming into the market for this kind of shady business tactics! I thought they would be understanding and say...okay, we'll drop the one charge as you didn't understand as most reputable COs would have, but nope...they threatened to take me to collections.

I've come to expect nothing less from them. LOL!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $45.

This happen to me as well, I had carry over-service which somehow was lost and my entire previous plan was renewed. On top of that they suggested additional services at no additional cost or very low price, which afterwards were added to the other services.

I’m surprised they have lasted for so long.

TrueGreen take advantage of their customers with misleading offers and auto renewing. Their service has not been effective anyhow.

I just googled true green scam after my phone convo with them looking for money for the one application that was supposed to have been left from last season. I told her I’m not paying it and they can figure out how to get their 65.00 from the one application that they did in April 2019 that was to have been included in the package from last year.

They can’t charge my card and I’ll go to the BBB to file a complaint if they try to hassle me for service I didn’t authorize this year.

I signed no contract! F off Tru Green!

Boy, lots of negative comments from customers about lawn services. I guess that's why I do it myself as I too have had issues with Tru-Green and btw folks; really your lawn doesn't need 5 treatments a year and for pete's sake, don't pay in advance because of some silly so called discount or at least use a credit card where you have some leverage. Remember when watering , rain and sunshine made for a nice green lawn years ago?
