I have seen the Tru Green trucks around here in maine but never thought of them. I can take care of my own lawn.

Yesterday, I worked with man who had been an employee of Tru Gren here in Maine. He claimed that he had worked for them and been serverely affected by teh chemicals they use. He had become nausious after work one day and ended up the hospital. He had to have a pace maker installed because of the effects of teh chemicals he was usiong for the company.

The Company refused to paid for any of his medical bills.

Even the Workers Comp system sided with teh Company.. but this is Maine under Governor LePage, so that is not surprising.

Monetary Loss: $55000.

Location: Auburn, Maine

TruGreen "ChemicalLawn" is doing nothing but poisoning OUR planet. They hire inexperienced seasonal workers that couldn't care less, nor know how to do their jobs correctly.

After researching the myriad of complaints against their parent ServiceMaster. I ask everyone to BOYCOTT any of their businesses. All the lawsuits against their companies are DISGRACEFUL!

One lie will lead to more! Help save our planet!!

I worked for TruGreen-ChemLawn in Michigan from the late 1980's thru the early 2000's. We always had some customers or their neighbors that were flagged as "chemically sensitive".

We would be required by the State Dept of Agriculture regulations to call these people a day ahead before applying pesticides to customer's properties. Once in a great while TG-CL would hire a new applicator that would find out on their own that they were hypersensitive to certain liquid pesticides. Cases that come to mind is 1 lawn Tech that would get nose bleeds whenever he sprayed lawns. He had no choice but to quit.

Another veteran lawn Tech would get headaches whenever he sprayed a certain product. Then there was the instance in the early 90's of some lawn Techs that got a bad skin rash when spraying a slow-release fertilizer. There were so many cases here that the company quit using this product. In the 90's TG-CL also used a pre-emergent that was labeled as a "skin sensitiser".

A few Tree & Shrub Techs complained of throat irritation when spraying a phyretheniod insecticide. Then there was the case of 1 new Tree & Shrub Tech that coughed up blood when he was spraying a particular miticide. He was moved over to lawn, but also found out that he was also chemically sensitive to 2,4-D *** control. So he quit.

So yes, there are some people that are chemically sensitive around chemical pesticide sprays. Yet most of the spray Techs were able to do their jobs without any acute problems.

I don't believe this. If you read the complaints, mostly everyone says they have more weeds after they've received multiple applications.

The spray applications, which, depending on the the time of year, consists of barricade(pre-emergent) and tri-power(*** control) and don't come close to the EPA limits.

They cut the products to save money. So if your guy got sick I seriously don't believe it was from inhaling anything TruGreen applies.
