Destroyed my lawn

Used TruGreen Lawn Service to fertilize the yard. They came out and applied the fertilizer to my yard and left instructions for watering, I followed the instructions exactly and they were written out. Within a few days I began to notice patches that were turning yellow in both the front and back yard. I called the company and had someone come out to look at it. The technican said that too much nitrogen had been applied and to water heavily to help. By the way, they still wanted to bill me for the service. My yard still looks horrible and I cant seem to get anyone out to fix it. I call but no one ever comes out.

TruGreen Worst Lawn Care Service

I prepaid TruGreen 2 years in the row, first year with their service, my lawn suffered from uncontrolled weeds and bare spots all over, they beg me to give them another chance so I prepaid them again. This year, due to their own billing error, they decided to stop my service altogether even though I prepaid for the service in the spring.

It took numerous calls and two months they finally resumed my service. Once again, my lawn suffered from weeds and bare spots worse than last year. Worst of all, I live in New England, they decided to aerate and reseed my lawn the end of Nov after snow falls and ground is frozen. On top of that, they aerate my lawn without informing the date of the service, even though the have on record that I have sprinkler system, the service man just completely ignored it and damaged my system.

After talking to their customer service several times, their manager failed to call me back. This will be the last time I ever use their service.

Beware, what they tell you is NOT what they deliver. Worst service company I ever used.

My lawn looked better before Trugreen's service. I made several calls which were totally ignored.

After that I withheld payment. See my results after 2 seasons of TG service on www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8XMbx7cQ-V

I worked for TruGreed for 5 years before leaving and starting my own lawn care business. My employment with TruMean was a crash course in how NOT to treat customers and employees.

My collage Business Professor used to tell the class that "A company's progress moves no faster than the company's pride, which in turn drives motivation and energy." TruGreen's management doesn't seem to get this simple concept.

The TruGreen/ServiceMaster Corp lives by the "Wall St." movie Michael Douglas character Gordon Gekko rule that "Greed....is good." Do yourselves a favor and do business with a local company where you can deal directly with a company owner that cares! Instead of a corp with a "faceless" CEO in another state!

John N Mzy

Get the damage to your sprinkler system repaired and send them the bill, certified with a request to pay it. If they don't, sue in small claims court

Unauthorized application

After being laid off in mid October I cancelled my service with Trugreen after 11 years of service. I was out running some errands in mid November came home to find a flag in the lawn and there service sheet on the door, could it be a case of chemical trespass? To there credit when I received the actual invoice in the mail it was at zero dollars, but I just wish they would do what they say they would do. When I find work again Will not use Trugreen due to the fact that a lot of my friends have service with them and they and not happy either with service. Probably go back to doing it myself.

That is correct Polska, I did say that. Because they actually do not send you to a REPORTING collections agency.

They send it to a "collections" company that will send you letters, but legally they ARE NOT able to report it because it is not a contract. Also, if a person does pay the past due (Accounts Receivable was part of my 5 year "career" there) they do not even let them company know you paid it off in the first place. The company will stop sending you letters after a period of time. They cannot legally send you to collections for something that is not a contract.

I have people that worked at my location that set up an Aeration Overseed on over an acre or two, that call every two years with a different name, same house, say they bought it recently, and do the pay with a check option... and then they DONT PAY AT ALL! EVER!

- The reason? It is a former employee who knew this policy.

Tim Kcd

Whoa now. Rainydays are you reading this? I thought you said in previous posts that they do NOT send bills to collections?

CC, did you end up having to pay for this through collections?

Kamyia Bib

As a former employee, I can tell you.. they will usually NOT cancel the account, as there is no monitoring of calls, and there is no way for them to track whether or not you have called.

The best way to handle it is to go to your local office and make them show you on the screen that you are canceled. The auto-renew policy for the next season, is their way of getting repeat business. It's their policy, but it is against the law for them to demand you pay it, and if you tell them you WILL NOT and you refuse to, they MUST credit you. It is honestly a terrible company, and they treat all the employees awful.

They don't hire worthy managers, and have no respect for the people who keep the business running. I would go for AAA Lawncare in the future!!!

Guest

Trugreen really does have a hard time accepting the fact the a customer wants to cancel their services. Even when I called to cancel them, and they said OK.

(After trying hard to convince me to stay with them.) They would still come out and treat my lawn & leave me a bill. So now guess what....They sent me to collections!! The cancel did finally get through. Now they're bugging me with all kinds of calls and mailers, to get me to come back on their program.

No Thanks! I'll find another company that doesn't have such shady business practices.

I honestly can't see how their employees can live with themselves!!!!!!! :eek :x :sigh

Unethical trugreen

I have been a trugreen customer for over 8 years. They are supposed to provide 9-10 lawn care services in a year. Continually each year they find a way to make sure they do 12 services so I have to pay for them. I've ignored it for many years because my lawn stayed mostly *** free. This past year they raised my rates substantially and then aerated my yard without my financial permission (this is not a usual and customary part of the yard service). I was slow on my payment to them because I was mostly mad for 60 days and was turned over to collections three weeks after I had already paid it!!! I find that atrocious and will no longer be using their services.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that was watching their lawn deteriorate quickly under TruGreen's "service". I just cancelled my service.

My least favorite thing was actually watching their Tech first write up my lawn report about the entire lawn, and then hang it on my door with written comments as if he had really done a thorough walk-through first. As a former customer I can attest that it is really TRU that they just don't care if they do a good job, or how your lawn looks. It's all about quick and easy money for them.

I'm done with Trugreen and back to doing it myself! :zzz

That type of problem, (no service, but a bill is left), is quite common with Trugreen. This unethical practice is known by several terms: "ghosting", "flagging & tagging", "hanging paper".

Tru green insisting on doing treatments

On August 29th, 2011, Tru Green had talked to my mother and had asked if she had wanted any lawn services for the next day. My mother had stated that she did not want any services from tru-green anymore.

When the day of August 30,2011 had come, tru-green had come to do services anyways. My mother and myself had been out to the store when they had arrived. Even though I did have the option of calling the police for the tru-green tresspassing on to private property, nothing was done. I had talked to the employee and he had stated that the service was paid for.

On September 6.2011, my mother had recieved a billing for the service on August 30,2011. I had called up the tru-green office located in Plymouth, MA. The salesperson that I had talked to was Veronica. She had told me that there was no cancellation number to be referred to for my lawn service.

I had asked her to if I could be transferred to a manager and her responce was that a manager was not on duty. I had asked Veronica if I could talk to the person in charge of recorded phone calls and have my phone call recorded with this person. Veronica had stated that the person in charge of recorded phone calls is Shayla and that Shayla is not avaiable. She has said that a note to talk to Shayla would be noted , but Veronica is not sure if I would get a return phone call from Shayla.

I did get a cancelation of service # from Veronica and the conversation was ended.

After discussing the time when my mother recieved a phone call from tru-green, my mother was not offered a cancelation number from the employee. My mother and myself feel that the service on August 30,2011 was not wanted and we are reporting this billing matter to the better business bureau.

We used TruGreen, (more like "TruGoof") last summer, and the grass looked worse than it ever did before they even set foot on our yard. Plus they always kept trying to sell us additional treatments.

The worse part though, was that they'd use an automatic dialer to call and tell me that I needed to call them to schedule the next discharge of chemicals. Then 2 weeks later, they came over without calling and sprayed my lawn again! I don't really like unannounced treatments, and having a lawn full of fresh chemical with 2 young kids, and a puppy in house-training. So I paid that bill through gritted-teeth and wrote across it in big red letters: "PLEASE CANCEL MY SERVICE, THANKS".

So, a few days later, I get a call from a TruGreen/TruGoof guy trying very hard to get me to reconsider, saying that my lawn "was in real danger of sliding back!" I was polite and didn't tell him that they actually made the lawn look worse than it was before their treatments. I must have told him "No, we're not interested" at least a half-dozen times before he stopped badgering me! They're just bad business people all around!!

Just avoid doing business with "TruGoof"!! They will drive you nuts!!!!

***- I currently work at Trugreen and the branch I'm at is BS. We work in rain storms and once in a hurricane.

We put fertilizer down in the rain then do service calls to go out and spray for weeds instead of doing it right the first time. I have one of the highest retention rates but don't always hit my daily production number because that requires you to cheat. Our managers lie to the Techs and blame them if stuff goes wrong. Company policy is not to do apps in the rain but our branch don't care.

Techs get charged for lunch brake when 95% of us can't take a break. I will say techs will spray in the rain to get extra money at the end of the week. Trugreen basically pay us salary so they can work you 70 hours a week. Every hour over 40 you get paid ***.

I get paid 3 dollars and some change for each over 40. So if you work 20 hours over that"s 60 bucks. I got yelled at for not doing lawns in the rain and brought back 100 dollars in rev while guy have 1500 to 2000 in rev. On that day we had thunderstorms.

Not to mention if it rains too hard the dry fert will run off a lawn down water drainage. 95% of compaints are legit but some customers cry for no reason.

Guest

#1...With an attitude like that it is no wonder you only worked there for a couple months. the issue between trugreen and its customers comes down to honest mistake(yes actual people work at trugreen and no one is perfect) and the fact that you customers hear what you want you expect a golf course after one treatment get over your selves your the type of people i would freak out on if i worked there. IGNORANT

Guest

I worked at Trugreen for a few months, and let me tell you. 95% of the complaints you will find online are correct.

They are more interested in getting revenue than doing a good job knowing that 9 out of ten times its the tech who is going to be blamed. Its probably not the tech folks, they use *** product. And serisouly, if the tech doesnt make thier quota both in lawns and sales, he gets fired.

The tech is so desperate to keep his job, yes, he will miss spots ion your lawn and not do a good job. Just be certain to please your blame on the company where it belings and not on the poor guy treating your lawn for the umpteenth time with the same *** chemicals.

Guest

Same thing happened to me in salt lake city....

Asked them to stop x3 with phone calls and the truck showed up trying to treat...refused treatment, then received a call from corporate by a gentleman who was extremely pushy...they claimed I would have a beautiful lawn in one year, instead it all turned brown and we had to replace the entire yard with new sod...1600$ DO NOT REFER TO THEM! Oh...btw still waiting for a refund on money I overpaid to acct.

been 4 months sofar..... :( :(

Guest

You can call the better business bureau but you know who pays for it....the business's themselves. That really wont change a thing.

Just don't pay for the app and leave it at that. That is about the best you can hope for.

DO NOT HIRE TRUGREEN. THEY ARE UN-AMERICAN!!!

I checked TruGreen's Facebook page, and what I am finding is a lot more complaints than compliments. I work in customer service, so I know that it takes 10 compliments to make up for one complaint. I see a running theme here, in that their Technicians are doing a poor job, and that their customer service is also poor. Employee posts about TruGreen, say that this company has a revolving door of both employee and customer turnover.

I wonder why? It becomes quite apparent that many of the negative issues that customers face when doing business with TruGreen stems from, in one way or another, the maltreatment of their employees, on a most basic level. Upon analyzing the myriad of reviews of this company, it is very self-evident that this corporation's business practices are very unethical.

In the end, the employees cannot be blamed for the structure of the corporate policies which force then to perform their jobs the way that they do. So....I strongly urge that NO ONE DOES ANY BUSINESS WITH TRUGREEN!!!!!

TrueGreen treats you like a dog and they are a ripoff.

I worked for them for 4 miserable months here in North East PA. I had so many pissed off customers.

They made treat lawns in the rain, only to have to re-treat them again and get no production credit for the re-application. And you're praying it doesn't rain again when TrueGreen sends you back out to retreat, because they will make you treat it again, knowing full well they're liquid *** control is worthless in the rain. All to make the numbers look good. Or treating yards with dirt so *** that nothing will grow good except weeds, how about being honest with the customer and tell them the truth, like you need to get top soil in here first BEFORE we can do anything.

Instead they will try to sell aeration to you, and they don't care if it works or not. It was one of the worst jobs i ever had, and to think it's like that all across the country makes me ill. They sent me out with one of their faulty machines, it almost ran me over, it knocked me down and i got hurt real bad. Got back to the shop and was treated like a criminal.

Meanwhile I'm in agony and all they were concerned about was paperwork. Got so pissed off i walked out of their doctor's office and was then let go. They were going to make me work the next, while I could hardly walk. What a relief.

Who wants to work for a company that sends you out ill equipped to do your job properly, and have to get yelled at for it.

TIPS TO FIX TRUGREEN. 1] No gimmicks nor extra discounts to get new customers.

Sell the value of the service. 2] No telemarketing. Stop pushing services that customers don't want or need. Stop harassing people to always buy, buy, buy.

Before they tell you "bye"! 3] diagnose first...then treat the problem. 4] Stick with slow-release fertilizers in the heat of summer (Jul & Aug) to stop fert burning lawns.

Emphasize and increase the use of organics. 5] Understand that customers can and will educate themselves.

Guest

I worked for TruGreen for 7 years. I stuck it out for that long expecting things to improve, until I got sick & tired of being lied to.

TruGreen could not care less about the chemical contamination of our communities. Branch management had me out on properties 10 times a year sometimes applying pesticides in the pouring rain, (light good, heavy NOT!). And spraying tree & shrubs in 40 mph winds. (over 15mph is wrong!).

Work days were never called off due to bad weather. Local TruGreen management only cares about using and abusing employees and making a huge profit to get their annual bonuses. Greed is their way! Just read through these comments and you will see that my opinion of this company is a very common one.

Right now public opinion is definitely not in the favor of TruGreen.

Corporate thought that they would simply fix the company's tattered image by dropping the ChemLawn name and re-branding the trucks with a new logo. Upper management may have good intentions, but they are going to have to do things differently if they want TruGreen to do better!

Guest

I worked for TruGreen. Even though the pay was good, I quit and I also let them know that they are crooked!

For example: Their policy is "No customer is allowed to cancel!" So, if I wrote up a cancel, they would refuse to enter it into the computer. The problem here, is that I went to several "customers" homes who were very pissed that I even showed up there, because they said they told TruGreen to cancel several times! I could go on for awhile on all the short-changes that they expect of their employees. What took the cake was that in sales training, (all employees are required to sell), we were told to sell a 8 or 9 step [treatment] program, which included a free winterizer.

When we asked what product was used for winterizing, management just said to say/use anything. "We just say that, to make it sound good, as that's what customers want to hear!" Important note: The inside training that I received on paper was very good. However, the actual field training out on the truck was crooked! It was all about walking very fast with the spreader output set very low.

They do *** poor work! With the training on paper we are to use a calibration (gap) gauge for the spreader. In actual field training, no such thing....just guess.... I got a gauge, but was never told what number setting to go by.

TruGreen has questionable billing practices too. This was at the Midland, TX office.

Guest

A fish rots from the head down! In the case of Trugreen, the head is the slugs at their corporate and local offices who provide zero, zilch, nada etc....

customer "service". It's disservice, and Trugreen is rated one of the worse companies in America for customer satisfaction. The're rated at the bottom-of-the heap by all rating agencies re. customer satisfaction.

If you work for Trugreen my condolences, you work for a dog ***, mismanaged, dysfunctional and any other descriptive adjective you want to insert abt your dog *** company. If you're having probs. w/Trugreen send a ltr to your states attorney general, forgert the BBB, theiy're worthless and irrelevant re. complaints.

If you cancel this dog *** company, put it in writing. Getting rid of Trugreen will test your patience.

They're parasites and even after cancelling, they'll continue to call you or send out a tech claming they knew nothing of the cancellation of service.

Guest

yes it is true that the apps need to be watered in, but when it is a downpour which they make you treat in it does no good because the water just carries of site,

Guest

No doubt that the product does need to be watered in BUT, when its pouring down raining, we all should know that the *** control will be wash off. I've work for trugreen for a year and a half and seen it myself.

Its even worse when you have new people "ghosting" lawns which means writting the invoice up, dropping it in the mailbox and leaving and im being put in these "clean up" routes with pissy *** customers. This job was depressing, if you wasnt working there for 10+ years, you had the worse route with no connection, the guys thats been there longer get done before noon yet the rest of us will be out until 6-8pm at night.

BEWARE-Unethical Lawn Care Company

I hired TruGreen Chemlawn about 12 years ago and got my neighbor to sign up with them also. My wife and I are typically not home since we both work but every so often my wife would be home while TruGreen Chemlawn was servicing our property. On those days she would notice that they were not treating my entire property. Then the following would happen. I would call them and tell them that they only serviced part of my property and they would then sent someone to treat the remainder of my property. At one point I had them spell out on the work order the bounderies of my property so the problem would not be repeated. Despite spelling out the property area to be serviced, they continued to service only part of my property and and I would continue to complain until last year when I called to complain and end our relationship. I spoke to the owner Mark Todd and he told me he would send a representative to evaluate the situation. EVALUATE THE SITUATION! When I came home the following day I saw a note from them that said, "the property you state was not serviced is NOT YOUR PROPERTY". Imagine that. After 12 years I'm being told that the area in question is not my property. When I called later on and spoke to the representative he reinterated that the property in question is not mine and asked if I could prove it. I told him my property bounderies are filed with the county clerk's office but having to prove it to them after 12 years was ludicrous and they could go to ***. Several weeks later when the TruGreen's main office called and asked why I'm not using their services anymore, I told the caller the story. She said she was sorry and hung up. No follow-up, no restitution, nothing. I then reported them to New Jersey's Department of Consumer Affairs.

I don't know if all the TruGreen ChemLawn franchise officers are this bad but a word to the wise, find a more reputable company and stay away from this one.

Unfortunately Chemlawn has a bad habit of ruining good people. All they care about is profit! They really dont give a *** about anyone but themselves, and I never had the same dude twice. That was just so wrong.

A note to the posting by "icedcoffee". It sounds that the guy did what TruGreen calls a *TruDetail* application, by just spot-spraying the weeds in your lawn. Even with that, they will still charge you the regular price.

Guest

:grin and it only took you 12 years. lol

I let them go a couple of years ago for not doing their job properly. Just happened to be home 1 day when they came by.

Walked into the yard, looked around, went back to truck, stuck the sign in my yard , put the bill on my door, and left.

Gave them another chance this year. Just happened to be home one morning when they came by. Pulled his hose in my yard. Sprayed a couple of weeds by the fence (30 seconds?

). Went over to the neighbors yard and treated the whole yard ( 10 to 15 minutes ? ). Came back to his truck in the front of my house, put the treatment sign in my front yard and the invoice for services in my screen door and drove off.

This is for real no joke. I called their office and they sent him back out to talk to me. He said he walked around my yard and trated what needed to be treated. I watched him and that was not the case.

I even had grubs and I paid them like 90 bucks for that particular service 6 to 8 weeks prior. NEVER AGAIN, I will go back to doing myself. My wife called me the other day and said she saw this guy being yelled at a block over.

I will put money on it was probably over the same BS. Oh, this was in Westerville, Ohio area being serviced out of Lewis Center, Ohio.

Guest

I own a pest control company and as a industry we charge a cusutomer by square footage treated. When the person comes to measure you property he/she charged you for your property.

Now you are wanting to add common grounds that are not yours. There are 2 problems with this. If it is a H.O.A.

a lot of times they have a company treating common areas and you dont want to over apply that would be bad for the grass and the enviroment, 2nd problem is that they would be loosing money if they treated more of an area that was agreed on. I do agree that there shouhld have been some communication, but did you offer to pay more for that area they were not treating?

Truegreen lawn service in hoover,Birmingham,AL

I am using the true green lawn service for my home since 2008.(3 Years) I did almost all kind of services recommended by them, to make my lawn good. I almost spend $700 per year only for the lawn. But My lawn is the worst lawn in my street. The guys are concentrate only the money but not in service. Now I got some local company to maintain my lawn they are doing a job in my lawn. TRUE GREEN IS A WASTE OF MONEY. I called almost every day to the local true green office and the central true green office but response is nothing.

TruGreen killed my lawn too!

This is the third year I've had TruGreen. First two -- no problems -- happy. This year, we had a drought all through the summer. At beginning of summer TruGreen treated my lawn -it died almost immediately. Then they treated trees and shrubs, the sycamore in the backyard died. All summer I had a horrible dead lawn and they kept coming out and treating it. I kept calling complaining and everytime I called, someone came out and "treated" it again. They said this would help. I couldn't water it enough. Even my neighbor commented that I had been trying to keep it watered. I placed a tuna can under the sprinkler trick. Nothing, not even water, can revive a lawn that's been chemically damaged. And I paid for this! They keep calling to come out and treat--no way -- stay away.

We made a sincere effort to rely on, and stick with Trugreen for 2 years now. They accidently sprayed the wrong liquid in 90+ temps [their excuse] on our very nice turf, (which took about $200 worth of watering for 3 months), and totally burned it up.

Their service manager who came out finally, after 3 days of phone calls said that he would personnally follow-up in 2 weeks! Well....7 weeks later and at least 9 phone calls, he has still not shown up, nor returned my calls!

Trugreen will say anything to keep getting your money. We signed up for their credit card auto payments, which was a huge mistake. The bottom line is that we have spent a ton of money with them, and our lawn looks worse than it did before the service.

TruGreen is a tru dissapointment. I advise anyone who is considering using this company to think twice. I have neighbors that were envious for about the 2 week "honeymoon period" that our lawn looked nice. But after that, there will be no one in our neighborhood going with Trugreen.

In attempt to make things right with me, thay promised a free aeration & seeding this fall. But since that promise, I am not sure that it is ever going to happen.

Everytime I call the local or national office, I get put on hold, transferred, then told that a Manager will get right back to me that same day. But it never happens!!

Cancelled

I cancelled the services in Feb. I don't live at the residence anymore but our kids do. They said a tech was there applying stuff. Sure enough I got a in depth breakdown of what was applied. Whats the matter with your customer services people.the girl said someone would call me back but nobody did and did the lawn. I'm not paying for it. No thanks!!! I'm trying to not get more upset and now I have to write at least 100 words? Here's the rest..NO MORE TRUE GREEN! DOUBLE CHECK RECEIVED CALLS OKAY?

Trugreen keeps on calling me every week. Very annoying

This is the worst lawn service company that I have ever used. The quality of their work is very poor.

Din't noticed any improvements in my grass after using them for a year.

They have continued to call me on a weekly basis at any time of the day and have ignore my request for them to stop calling me. I don't recommend this Company to anyone, they may be the largest but are the worst.

They continue to offer you extra services and even when you tell them you don't want them, they will continue on calling you.

If you are still receiving harassing unwanted phone calls from Trugreen I can help. There’s a potential class action against them for this.

They make around 3 millions cold calls a year!!!! I bet 80% of those are repetitive and unwanted.

If you want to participate in this class action call me at 406-219-**** or email sam@***.com. www.mypirl.com

They just keep passing number around so reject list doesnt help.

On top of that most of them speak broken english and I cant understand. What else can we do??

TruGreen is notorious for over-contacting to SELL! SELL!

SELL! And not always in the most customer friendly manner either! I urge everyone to contact TruGreen's Corp V.P.

of SALES at 901-597-**** and 901-597-****. Their emails are: tgcommunications@***.com and customercare@***.com

I am also sick of trugreen calling me at least once a week. They give poor service, and somehow find room to advertise their other "premium" services that can improve the lawn.

Real good business strategy. Ill be canceling their service once I find a suitable replacement service in my area.

Speaking as a former TruGreen office worker [CSR]; Here are the steps that all of you NEED to take in order to get TruGreen to stop calling you for good. First, you MUST specifically make a "DO NOT CALL" REQUEST.

By making this request, the employee must fill out a DNC CONFIRMATION Form stating that he/she went into the computer and put a "no solicit" on your number. And then went into the dialer and took your phone number out of the sales campaigns.

After this process is completed, then your DNC Request must be filed in the "Do Not Call" File and kept for 2 years. You can also request a copy of the company's Do Not Call Policy to further assure that TruGreen complys with your DNC request.

Carl the manager does not care about his residential clients. After 2 weeks of saying my lawn was dead, the manager, Carl, finally came out.

He told me "to get a sprinkler system. We just put down some fertilizer and *** kill." If this is so, please change your advertisements to that only. Showing green grass is false advertisement as my lawn is bare. His tone and his office workers never wanted to help resolve the problem.

I needed to contact corporate to even get the remaining balance of my payment reimbursed. Do your research and ask questions of what they intend to do for your lawn before signing any paperwork. Please do yourself a favor and do not deal with Trugreen West Chicago or Batavia, Geneva, Wheaton, St.

Charles. These areas get the same service amateurs.

My lawn looked better before Trugreen's service. I made several calls which were totally ignored.

After that I withheld payment. To see the results after 2 seasons of TG service, see my video on www.youtube.com/watch?v=u8XMbx7cQ-V

Indeed! I just found a lot of photos like this posted by irate T.G. customers on TruGreen's very own Facebook page!

I would never use them because of the damage that their fertilizers and it's run-off does to lakes and streams!

:roll

This photograph looks to me like a sod job that never took hold to begin with. Probably due to lack of watering after the sod was put down.

Look closely at this picture, you can still see the seams from the individual sod pieces! :roll

8) If you fertliize & water your lawn on a regular basis, and it still looks like the photgraph above with no improvement.... Then the turfgrass either has an insect infestation (webworms, billbugs, and the like), in which you need an insecticide treatment.

Or the grass looks like that due to an excessively thick layer of thatch; In which case you need to have only natural/organic fertilizer (to encourage microbial activity) applied, and a criss-cross core areation done.

Hope this helps!

:) ;) ;) :)

Thanks for attaching the photo. In this day and age, camera phones are most helpful. In any case, it looks to me like you have an infestation of Sod Webworms. (If there are off-white moths fluttering around, then this confirms my diagnosis.) As such, an insecticide for surface feeding insects is needed, and damaged areas should be slit-seeded in September. Thanks for using TruGreen {The industry's leader}, and please call for a FREE Service Call.

Signed, Trugreen Regional Technical Manager

Trugreen ruined lawn, killed 5 trees, bushes and shrubs

May 21, 2010 Trugreen applied "something" to my yard which killed huge patches of grass and 2 trees lost all their leaves by the end of June. I was told this would be temporary and would come back in the spring.

Spring came and I now have 5 totally dead trees (one of which is 41 years old)huge lilac bush rings around the bases of trees and 14' section of hedges(directly in the middle of the row)Since I had them come out I had weeds in my yard that I never had before and still continue to have. Discontinued service and they still call every other week and have come out and actually sprayed my lawn when I had discontinued their service in March of this year. This was done late summer.

I need advise as to get my yard back in its original shape. Carol
